  • Chose one of the first nine plagues. Put yourself in the sandals of an Egyptian and explain your experience. Please be sure to use vivid and descriptive words to describe your experience in two complete paragraphs. This task is worth 15 points. Please complete this task in your Google Drive document.


28 & 29. The Last Plague and the Passover Exodus 11-15


  • We will use our text, the Bible and The Ten Commandments movie to study this lesson.
  • You are now an Israelite. You have just crossed the Red Sea and witnessed the Egyptians being covered up by the waters and are freed from your slavery. Your task is write a journal entry describing your feelings at this moment. Please complete this task in your Google Drive Red Sea Crossing document. This journal entry should be at least two paragraphs long.

Lessons 30 - 40
For the remaining lessons you will split into groups. Your groups responsibility is the following:

1. Read your assigned lesson using the text and Bible.

2. Decide on the 5 most important events, person, or facts from your passage. These could include an event – Lot’s wife was turned into a pillar of salt; a person – Abraham’s wife was Sarah; or a fact – Gideon was the first powerful judge.

3. Create a presentation from one of the following options:

a. Create a Google Drive Presentation with a title slide and five slides that display the important events, people, or facts. Each slide should contain an illustration that aids in the understanding of the point you are presenting. Then add a sixth slide describing how the Bible lesson applies to our lives today.

b. Create a Prezi on prezi.com. This should have a title slide and five slides that display the important events, people, or facts. Each slide should contain an illustration that aids in the understanding of the point you are presenting. Then add a sixth slide describing how the Bible lesson applies to our lives today.

c. Choose a character from the passage to interview about the important events, people, or facts that you chose. Then interview another group member from “present day” to describe how the Bible lesson applies to our lives today. Your group should write a script for the interview to be turned in with the videotaped interview. The five important items should be numbered or highlighted within the script.

4. Your group will present your presentation to the class on the assigned day.

5. Each group member must be involved in the presentation.

Here is an example if a group were presenting on the story of Moses and the burning bush:
  1. Moses married Zipporah and was a shepherd in Midian - picture of sheep with shepherd
  2. Moses talked to God in a "burning bush" that did not burn up - picture of burning bush
  3. God proved himself with the snake/staff and cloak/hand miracles - illustration of staff turning into snake
  4. Moses was afraid to speak so God chose his brother Aaron to help him - family photo of Moses and Aaron
  5. Moses was 80 years old when he returned to Egypt to free his people - picture of older Moses with a beard and "Superman" logo on his chest!
  6. Application - God has a plan for each of us that we may not expect or feel prepared for, but He will always provide us with the means to accomplish His will!

This task is worth 30 points (each slide is worth 5 points).

  • You can find out more about the meaning of the 10 Commandments in your Luther's Small Catechism.
  • Your task is to create a list of the 10 Commandments summarized so that you could share could share them with your Kindergarten Buddy! Each summarized Commandment will be worth 2 points (total of 20 points for the assignment.

    • Each summarized Commandment should be no longer than one complete sentence.

    • Each summarized Commandment must reflect the Commandments meaning, but not be written in the same words as the original commandment.

    • Each summarized Commandment must be able to be understood by someone that is 5 or 6 years old.

    • Please use the Google Document in your Drive to summarize the Commandments (this is how you will turn in your assignment.)


Moses Assignment

You are an Israelite who is about to enter the Promised Land, you are aware that Moses is about to “retire” as a prophet of the Lord. There is going to be a retirement party in his honor. As a guest at the party you have 2 options. Each option is worth 20 points.

1. Create a “retirement” card to give Moses at the party that thanks Moses for all he has done for you and the people of Israel.
    • The card must be colorful (10 points)
    • The card must share with Moses what you are thankful for/what you admire about him – this text portion should be at least two paragraphs long and free of grammatical errors (10 points)

2. Draft a speech that you will read aloud at Moses’ party to thank him for all he has done for you and the people of Israel.
    • The speech should be at least 3 paragraphs long and be free of grammatical errors (10 points)
    • The speech should share with Moses what you are thankful for/what you admire about him (10 points)
